Born and raised in Pakistan, I have always been connected to art in one form or another but the burden of choosing a ‘practical degree’ fell upon me and I lost touch with my drawing skills. My only options were an engineering or an architectural degree and to be as close as I could to any form of drawing, I chose architecture. I quickly realized my true passion resided in illustration. I took a break from my undergrad in architecture and moved to the US where I started my illustration journey in Dallas Texas. It was a tough decision to switch majors but I’m glad I did it because nothing makes more sense to me than a pencil in my hand and the endless possibilities that I can portray on a piece of paper. I like to travel in my spare time and explore different cultures and foods that are out of my comfort zone which greatly influence my imagination and the art that I create with it. Through daily practice, persistence and determination I hope to make a name for myself in today’s competitive environment.
